Dexter Music! →
On Dexter’s Facebook page they’ve added a RootMusic Band page - great idea!! You don’t see many shows/movies/non-music products promoting the music used in them, and hot damn does dexter have excellent music. You can even download three of the tracks!
Thanks to our friend Joe, huge dexter fan, for sharing with us.

The 9:30 Club!
Been painfully out of touch these past two weeks as we prepped for our show tonight. This is huge for us, cheesily a dream come true. The friggin’ 9:30 club!
We’ve been working on a bunch of new material - we were hoping to have a batch o’ new songs ready for tonight, but didn’t want to rush things so we’re holding off. Still, we’ll be playing 2 new songs, and...

Remembering Burning Airlines:Mission Control →
Article from DCist remembering the great dc/baltimore badasses, Burning Airlines. I remember abusing my CD player with this album in high school - the drums/bass work on this album being a heavy inspiration to me.

A Simple 5 step plan for anything and everything →
Go, make something happen! Lovely list from Seth Godin. Very in tune with “Re-work” philosophy and my favorite motto, “Get excited and make things.”

You HAVE to see this! Robin’s featured in a Philly Rising video singing Jeff Buckley’s version of “Be Your Husband.” Gives me goosebumps every time I watch it. SO AWESOME.
Many thanks to Boy Wonder for hosting Philly Rising, which takes place at World Cafe Live in Philly!
Talk About a Great Live Show
ChatRoulette: for those of you not in the know, it’s a new internet ‘sensation’ where you are randomly paired with someone to video chat. You can hit ‘next’ at any point to move on to a new random chat partner).
A fellow by the name of Merton (Ben Folds) has started using ChatRoulette to write improvised songs about the people who pop up. You can take a look here.

Radiolab
I don’t know how many of you subscribe to WYNC/NPR’s Radiolab podcast, or know of it - but hot damn, it’s amazing. I’m “we’re in middle school and you’re my first huge crush” obsessed with it. From the iTunes description:
On radio lab, science meets culture and information sounds like music.
Seriously, could that be any more up our alley?? No.

VIDEO: The Black Keys - "Tighten Up" / "Next Girl"

Promo video for The Black Keys’ “Tighten Up” and “Next Girl” from their forthcoming “Brothers” album due out May 18th.
Weekly updates!
We’ve been slacking on the blog updates, but have been running around like wildabeasts (that analogy is as correct as the spelling of that word).
Tuesday we played our Breast Cancer Benefit Show at Jammin Java, put on by Pink Jams! It was a lot of fun, and Momentary Prophets and Dreamscapes Project killed it. We’ll be writing more about how sonically attractive the two of them are...

We're on District of Sound!
‘the Very Small’ just had an article written about us on Dos! You can check it out here, or see the homepage promo in all it’s glory here. We’re really excited and happy with the article, big up to Orlando and the DoS peeps!
DoS is having their Spring Showcase on April 2nd at Velvet Lounge - definitely check it out. We’re excited as batballs to see Bellflur, and the...
IOTA and Ken!
IOTA was packed last night, good ol’ St. Patty’s. We had a good set, although Robin borrowing a last minute guitar tuned down a whole step and with crazy feedback issues gave us some ‘challenges’ - kind fun though to tackle new challenges in the moment.
Rene played a newish song that sounded great, and as always there were a shitton of great performances.
I ran up to...
Updateable Luvin'
We had a great time in New York with Vinny Vegas and Eagle and Prey over at Fat Baby. Great crowd, great environment that quickly and mysteriously turned into some kind of dance party when we finished unloading. The only tragedy was missing out on Roy Rogers because of turnpike traffic, but alas … next time. Keep your eyes peeled for the video!
Tonight Robin’s playing the Soundry and...
Busboys!
We’re playing the open mic at Busboys and Poets tonight (the one on 14th and V NW) - so come out and get your Hummusy love on!
René’s going to be playing as well, and there’s always banging poetry going on. Get excited, promptly.
